Over part of Thanksgiving we went to visit my grandma and grandpa on my dad’s side in Des Moines, IA. The day was filled with delicious food, delicious wine, one intense card game, and one relaxing walk.
For as long as I can remember my grandpa has created these art works that look like paintings, but are actually made from tiny cut-up pieces of the colored plastic wrapped around wires. Before we left he took all of us grandchildren down to his workshop to see his recent work, and to pick one out to take home.

This is the one I chose!
I can’t imagine how many hours he spends on each creation; they look amazing and are truly unique. I love that I now have a piece of his art on my wall to remind me of him.
Cheers Grandpa!
