I ask her “what?” and she nods toward the trash. “What?,” she nods again … finally I look in the garbage can and her donut (aka, her favorite toy in the whoooole wide world, omg!) was just barely peeking through all the tissue.

I have no idea why she would have dropped it in there, but she couldn’t get it out, so she came and asked me to help. What a little Lassie I’ve gotten on my hands! … Although if it had been Timmy in the well, by the time I started listening to her, little Timmy proooobably would have already drowned. Oops!

The good news is, I’m going to fill you in! I know you’ve been patient In addition to running around town like a crazy person, my dear old Granny PC finally bit the dust a few weeks ago, taking Photoshop and all its photo-editing glory with it. The good news is I have a brand-spankin’ new computer! The bad news is, in the meantime my Photoshop access has been relatively limited, thus holding back the bloggage.

But not to worry! Things are turning around my friends, and my many summer adventures will be available to you soon! Little by little. (Hey, I’m still a busy girl!)

I will let you know there have been many adventures! I’ve been lucky enough to check so many things off the 100 list and my life list. Now that the weather has cooled down, and fall is beginning to set in, I’m thinking this weekend is the perfect time to do some catching up. So expect many fun-filled postings in the near future my friends!

I made him a travelling gnome to take with him on his many adventures! (I also made him a little ‘lovebug’ but we forgot to take a picture … oops!

We noticed it looked eerily similar to the pepsi can Kt was drinking from …

As you can see, many pictures were taken, and a good time was had by all. Turns out, he’s a cutie! Congratulations Katie and Andrew, looks like you made a good one!

If you’ve never been to a Brazilian Steak House, I highly recommend it. It’s meat-tastic. And even if you’re not so into the meat, they usually have a soup, sushi, and/or a giant salad bar. Plus wine. Lots and lots of wine. Texas de Brazil has all of these things, plus a flying-acrobat wine-fetching girl to boot. It’s a pretty sweet deal.

Before heading downtown we got all dressed up and fancy, and then we waited for the bus.

And kept waiting for the bus.

So we entertained ourselves with a few photos. Eventually the bus got there, and we had a super-delicious meaty meal!

After our fabulous dinner, we popped into Trader Joe’s to get the necessary ingredients to continue our anniversary celebration –

Champagne, mint ice cream cookies, and ... pepperoni?

We finished the night back to Andrew’s apartment drinking champagne and watching a few episodes of our new favorite show, Dexter. It was the perfect way to celebrate.

After spending Saturday night with Kelli, Deborah, and a couple pitchers of sangria at Moody’s, we met up with Andrew, Owen, and Steve the next morning for the free Passion Pit concert down at Millennium Park. We found a nice shady spot to set up our blankets, and got ready to enjoy the show. What we didn’t realize was that, although fliers said the concert would start at noon, there would be several hours of opening bands beforehand. Eventually we got hungry/bored and decided to wander into the Taste to pass the time.

And look what we found -- Banana hats!

We felt pretty awesome sporting those the rest of the afternoon Eventually we went back to our blankets, and around 4 o’clock Passion Pit finally took the stage!

Hooray!

Kelli and the boys snuck up closer to the stage to get a better view, while Deb and I stayed behind to relax. We both ended up falling asleep to the music, but after a long hot summer day, a nap was definitely the perfect solution!

After the concert we took the train back up North for our second bbq of the weekend, before heading to Foster beach for the main event … fireworks!

We really got the perfect spot — front row seats on the lake, just one harbor over from where they were being set off.

After the fireworks were over Andrew and I went back to his apartment where we got to pop open a bottle of champagne, celebrate our 1-year anniversary, and watch even more fireworks from his window — courtesy of the nearby neighborhoods and suburbs! The view was amazing, and the perfect end to a wonderful holiday weekend!

Storm clouds were rolling in, but the rain held off, so we got lucky.  We started down the pier trying to figure out where to eat lunch, but neither of us can make a decision to save our life. So! Even though we passed what felt like 50 restaurants, we still ended up at the end of the pier without sitting down to eat. Oops!

The skyline was especially gorgeous from the end of the pier, but sadly this picture doesn’t quite do it justice.

Also, look what we found when we got to there:

Of course we had to stop to take the obligatory facebook photos, before finally deciding on some nondescript seafood place. (We’re on a pier, it only seems right to eat seafood … right??)

After some grub we ventured over to Wrigleyville for something to do/drink. We wandered up and down Clark St but were disappointed to find that almost all of the bars were completely empty. Lame. (It was a Monday evening, and it wasn’t a game day, what can you do?)

We did however, find a giant macaroni noodle! … What are the odds??

It was pretty awesome.

We eventually settled at Vines where we waited about a year for a waitress to come to our table. That was fun!

Eventually we got a drink, and Shayla found something to stick a candle in! (She was determined, she wanted her wish, darn it! Can you blame her?)

Good thing they had tiramisu!

After Vines we popped over to Boystown where we spent the rest of the evening at the Kit Kat Lounge and Supper Club with Charlie and a few of his friends. Here’s where Shayla and I stopped bopping around town, and the party began!

This was especially exciting, because it was 1/2 off the entire menu which meant — $5 martinis — woooot!

I took full advantage.

This one here was the Lava Lamp martini — it was vodka and sprite with a floating jello shot plopped in there — loved it! And it looked cool too.

The evening couldn’t end without Shayla showing off her mad new purple leggings! Hooray, happy birthday Shayla!

This Monday I’ll be helping Andrew move apartments. Lol, what a difference a week makes!
